Daft Christmas, Punk New Year

Daft Punk was pretty wikid coo. Expensive - but it was exactly what you hoped in your mind a Daft Punk show would be like! :D

My relatives are in town too. My grandmother, aunty and lil cousin Frankie. Took them down to Sydney over the weekend which was pretty coo. Played arcades, went past the Opera House and went on the ferris wheel in Darling Harbour and paddle boated and some other stuff. Caught up with Ames and her folks for dim sum too.

Also caught some of the awesome football on over the weekend, but only on the telly. I was so close to going to the Sydney vs Mariners game except it was in Gosford and training up and back was gonna be just that little bit 2 much effort (4 hours travel on top of driving to Sydney). Alas, cause it was the best A-League game to date bar none. 5-4, 2 penalties, 2 red cards! Crazy! Also caught the Arsenal vs Tottenham derby on the telly on Sat nite with Ames in a bar in Syd.

Pretty tough weekend actually cause Friday I was out with the boys for Robilliard's premature farewell to Europe (he's not going till January!) Gof was up from Melb too so we all got well tanked which was coo. Then I drove to Sydney in the morning at like 9am, which was less cool. I didn't drive till we got to Goulburn though and thankfully I had a shower before we left.

Off to Melbourne tomorrow for Christmas with the relos in Melb too. Gonna try and get some shopping done in the sales, there wasn't much available in Sydney yet although I wasn't looking very hard. Hopefully can score some groovy stuff before heading back on NYE for a BBQ at Gof's place in Canberra. Then a day of recovery on the 1st and back to work on the 2nd.

Might try and get a week off to go to Melb for the Aussie Open in January if I can convince Veej or Bakes to come down + I can get ticks + and I haven't bankrupted myself by then hehe ;)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Y'All!

november update - JT, Gabe's Bday, Padua Reunion

GAWD. Another monthly update. I thought I had beaten it this time!
Oh well...

Wassup?

Summer soccer has been on and it is prettey coo. We are 2 wins and 1 narrow loss which is groovy and the team is cool. The boys pass to the girls (still not enough probably) and the girls even score and keep goal! (well Cherie is the only girl to do either and both!)

I went down to Sydney twice last week. Firstly midweek for JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, or rather to justify my $150. It was justified mainly on the fact that I went, the 'show' was good, and I can say I went to see Justin Timberlake. JT's target audience, e.g. Gabe's GF Lily, on the otherhand was well satisfied. Of course I am in the (low) demographic of the audience that wanted to get my dance on, but the 'I'm going to stand here and scream for 2 hours, OMG it's Justin! I want to have your babies!' section of the crowd had it's way and the set list played like a tempo yo-yo. First an upbeat song, followed immediately by a slow accoustic piano ballad, followed by a dance hit... all night! Alas. The show closed with SexyBack and an uber laser-lighting, bass-pumping extravaganza that was totally awesome. Unfortunately I had vainly hoped the whole show would be like that. In hindsight it reminded me of the first time I listened through the second album - yeah it was good, but I forgot that he likes lots of slow songs just like in the first album, so I really should have seen it coming. JT himself was very groovy, is a hell of a performer and was very entertaining despite the single brain cell audience interactivity level.

The next day was annoying as I got up off the couch (late), decided against showering and drove home. Next time it will be first thing in the morning to get back for work (+ a shower), or chillax all day and come home late. In the middle... SUX. After driving home at midday I was pretty shattered when I finally got out of the car.

I was back up on Friday though, doing more damage to my tired skin, but saving lots of water from lack of personal hygene. I started off sweaty after sprinting to my 2pm bus when I discovered at 1:45 that the 5pm was full. Sydney was a load of fun though, Gabe can always be relied on to throw a good bash, and there was drinking and dancing to be had till late. Gabe's roommate and his infantile drug buddies on the other hand... OMG! Like a pack of my brother (who is still throwing off teenage angst), but suped up on a cocktail of illicit drugs = Loud little inconsiderate fucks who can't keep their voice down ringing every one on their mobile phone contacts lists while daddy or drug dealing is paying the bill and screaming at everyone their inane teenage babble till past morning and almost into the goddamn afternoon!! *pant* Incidently I was up in Sydney for Gabe's Bday.

Vj and I bussed it home as soon as we got up. I showered at home, had a bite, then was off to the Padua Year 10 - 10 Year Reunion. It was prettey coo although not mindblowing. I got to see a few peeps I hadn't seen in ages, and it turns out the Mawson Club is quite nice... too bad it's in Mawson. That's all I'll say about that here for teh moment.

Cooness. There's a good place to stop haha.

october update

So another monthly update. At least there is an update I guess!

Foxtel iQ has taken over my weeknights and most of my weekends too.

AVATAR is my fave show atm. The animation is great, the dialogue is poetic, charachters are witty, and has a great balance of sweet and hard situations. The most interesting charachter is Zuko, an anti-hero type charachter struggling with his identity as a result of his dysfunctional family. The eldest (only) son of the Fire Lord in chinese/asian culture he should have a high status. However some disgrace (I am only half way through the series...) caused his father to punish him in public to retain his honour. Now Zuko carries his shame as a disfigured face as he travels with his genial uncle, a former general now also retired in disgrace having lost his only son, who tries to share the happiness he has achieved through a new perspecitve on life with his troubled nephew. Zuko hunts the Avatar to regain his honour while his psycopathic sister Azula wages war against the other nations.

Last weekend I went to Winnie and Warnes' Wedding. It was pretty coo although Warnes' Pa was doing his best Dr. Phil impression...

This weekend I will probably rock up to Ranse' Halloween Party which almost completely slipped my mind. I thought up a groovy 'Suicide Patient' costume when he first sent round the invite, I wonder if it is feasible...

Bah I am feeling really annoyed at this very instant... I bought a new HDD/DVD recorder for $400. I shouldn't have done that. Sure it is a useful device but a) it has no SD/HD tuner so can only record from external source and b) it cost $400!! I priced buying Avatar in Aus and it was $20 per disc, but I just did a quick search while looking for the above pic and it would cost me only $100-$150 to buy Book 1 & Book 2 from Amazon! :( Bah, how am I going to get another $300 value out of this hunk of junk?! And it will probably be completely obsoleted next year when iQ gets upgraded... maybe there is something else good on fox to tape, or I will record more soccer (which once upon a time was the whole concept...)

Summer Soccer kicks off this weekend. My ankle has only been so-so over the last month. I was worried for a while (and still am slightly) that I have done serious ligament damage. Going dancing at Justice and ANUWSC Presentation Night did not aid recovery. Speaking of which Preso night was quite fun. Men's preso night was pretty coo too although I was a bit cheesed at not being nominated for Coach of the Year.

November sees me undertaking my Senior Coaching Licence and attending Justin Timberlake in Sydney. I'm going to miss Gabe's b'day for the first time in several years alas, unfonrtunately the Senior Course is not held annually and I am in the mood to push on with my coaching, esp as Ranse's plan to coach the Premier League women's squad crystallises and I even applied for a youth coaching position for 2008 (which would effectively prevent me from playing infact...).

puyo puyo!

How cool is that! Well maybe 'cool' isn't the right word... although it is oddly reminiscent of an ice cube.

Now THIS on the other hand, is COOL.

dancin-est movie EVA!

I watched Hairspray tonight and it was AWESOME!!!

DANCIN-EST MOVIE - EVA!!!

:D

What's been up?
Did I mention I went to Perth and Brisbane for work? That was fun. My ankle is STILL hurting after 3 weeks since I got kicked in our Quarter Final : I am going to DAFT PUNK and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE later in the year in Melbourne and Sydney respectively. I went to JUSTICE at Academy last weekend which was coo but waay to hardcore-electro-buzz-buzz not to mention the main act didn't get on until 2 am or somethin absurd!
Went down to Melb to catch up with Gof this weekend which was coo. Lots of sport and drink. Went to the A-League game, Victory 2 - Qld 0. Watched the AFL grand final in a pub with lots of screaming Geelong fans. Vj and Gof put a tener on Port Adelaide who got smashed by a record amount. Went to the Pixar Animation exhibition at Museum of Motion Image or whatever it's called in Fed Square. Saw comedian Arj Barker's show which was pretty amusing -"and blue light was coming up from his balls! That's the worst case I've ever seen!" And I caught a heap of sport on telly, end of the NRL grand final where Melb Storm smashed Manly, Women's World Cup Final which was great Germany winning 2-0 over Brazil to go back to back champions.
Was thinkin of going to the A-League, Syd v Melb in Syd, next weekend but I feel like I overspent in Melb this weekend (mainly on grog and lots of eating out) plus I have ANUFC team lunch on Saturday so I will catch the game on telly if I am not comatose.
Oh speaking of TV finally bought a big screen. It is a 42" plasma, and it is pretty coo. Gotta start collecting hexbox games again now although I don't have heaps of time to play. Mum likes the tv too :S I think I may buy a second smaller tv for the other room so mum (or me I suppose...) can go in there and watch too. FOX should be getting installed soon so there will be plenty of footy to watch on repeat and whatever else I tape off of the tube onto IQ. Fo real, will have to wire up for multi-room AV pretty soon in that case.
OMG geez I never blogs no more - got the bro to install my new Sony Bluetooth Car Stereo deck. Now mah tunez be streamin yo! And the new speaks sure are cooler than before!
Gawd, oh yeah and I watched SuperBad which lived up to it's title lols, although it did have some funny moments - "I drew cocks..." The B grade action movie Bulletproof with Gary Busey was pretty hilarious though "It is an honour to call you Bulletproof el capitan McBain!" ROFLMAO!

So what's up now?
There is loads I want to do. Tap, Funk, Hip-Hop, Ballet - just dance all over really! Stupid ankle is almost better now so will be able to hit the floors again soon. Need to get into a gym, organise summer soccer, want to rebuild a wardrobe, put a tv in the garage and maybe some other junk around the house too. Meantime work is still coo and need to build up some more flex for my next trips, Gabe's bday in Sydney, Daft Punk in Melbourne, Justin Timberlake in Sydney again.

Dizamn. I've had shit on. Life is prettey groovhey. :)

out of finals

boo! we got knocked out of finals. boo! :(

That was damn quick. In an instant it was over. To add insult to injury I got a huge kick to my ankle which took me out of the game while we were winning 1-0 in the first half.

I was very angry during the second half. It was so frustrating not being able to go on and make a difference, or even make changes as a coach since the bench of three had been whittled down to one by the time the second half was underway.

My thoughts at the end of the second half was largely that I had been betrayed by a particular player and they he would never play for me again. After several hours left to ponder while I waited for an x-ray in hospital I re-assessed what I could have done better as a coach. Mainly making sure that my players were 100% comfortable with the formation, which they obviously weren't ultimately. Also I should have gone with a larger team, although that was difficult to manage from the start as the players were not of the required ability. I have a plan on how to tackle that aspect next season.

Now I am sitting at home since I am on crutches. The x-ray showed no break which is good but my foot still hurts pretty bad even from slight movements. Hopefully I can get my body back together over the next month or two before summer soccer. I have problems with both feet, my nose and my thumb.

In other news finally bought a TV although it is yet to arrive. A cheap panasonic 42" plasma. I had been leaning towards the shiny samsung 42" plasma for a long time but in the end, the panasonic's smoother image quality despite lower contrast level and single HDMI were compensated by a huge $300 price drop last thursday. Hooray for competition! $1650 + $150 for a 4 year extended warranty and delivery. Maybe in a few years if I crave HD i'll buy a new even bigger screen. The way prices are dropping so rapidly I would probably be very annoyed within 12 months if I had gone for a premium unit now.

running out of blog

Blog was fun, but it's drying up. I get home too late and I would rather sit back and watch some Battlestar with the meager hours that remain when I get home. Maybe I will have some more time to jump on the puter when soccer winds down, which will be sooner than later it appears. A cool breeze is blowing in hell over a retarded pig beating its hooves together trying to take off. That sums up our chances of making finals!

There is so much I want to do, and so much I know I can do. But I don't know where to find the hours in the day, weeks in the year, years before I'm too old.

Maybe I just need a coke ;)
