soccer is coo

soccer is coo. I took a week off, trained lightly or not at all and didn't play over Easter. It seems to have done the trick since my groin is feeling good. But Adam went and pulled his at training and it looked like he came off second best after our training match today.
It was good to start playing, the team went really well and Joseph really stepped up and has left me feeling much better about how our back line will hold up this season.

Nothing else much is up. Went shopping last weekend and got a long sleeve casual shirt from esprit, some jocks and socks, and a cheap DKNY dress watch. Shopping is becoming a regular pursuit for me, although I have been able to show decent restraint and save increasingly more money.

There's a few good movies out I want to see, Sunshine in particular. Also Stomp the Yard. I haven't been doing any regular dancing for a while which is making me feel a bit antsy. I think I might start going to funk again on fridays to make up for it.

poker tonight at hawkins' place and mike o's bday too. Some cricket and football on fox too so should be a good time.

financial times, stress season

$600 is how much I have at the end of this fortnight. Plus an extra $100 reimbursement for SRA membership means I saved $500 this fortnight from $1100! Yay! He can be taught!
$600 spent is less than $50 a day, and for me, that is awesome.

Customs got back to me yesterday with an offer, so I will fill that out this weekend and submit next week. Hmm... at current progress ($1000 per month) I would only have $3000 for Asia Cup... Paid leave would bring that up to $4000. Hardly impressive given my ambition of $3k - $10k...

I've been stressing this week. My soccer plans went off the rails when no players materialised from higher grades and my defence was left in tatters. Our pre season match last weekend went to script and we got pumped 4-0. There was a lot that came out of that game though apart from showing up the deficiency in the team. The three strikers worked well and we created plenty of chances, although failed to convert. And some of the goals could easily be ironed out, although we have a marked lack of depth at the back.

Lols I'm an idiot... There was 5 months from February to July. At current pay I would only earn $10,000 net in that time! My virgin credit card got approved which is good and will allow me to pay off my current credit liability. But if I did that my Asia Cup fund would dwindle from a max of $4000 to $2000... Methinks if Asia Cup trip does go ahead I will return in a worse financial position than when I leave!

Now I will need to apply for leave again... this doesn't look feasible...
