Glorious Goal No.1 - Motion Triptych (Art)

Summer comp is up and running finally. Don't know half the team yet so I call them "Mark, Michael, Matt?". We had 3 of the above last year, suddenly it occurs to me that they might not be with us anymore, 2 are at any rate.
Some easy opposition was good to warm up against. 4 male subs today, but that suited me fine as I pretty much played to capacity given I limped off the field.
Not before I got off the mark with our team's first goal - the all important equaliser, before we cruised to a 5-2 victory. Adam fed me the ball, a 5 yard pass from my right - see artwork!
Yeah, moments before that I took a similar pass from the left hand side, and instead of controlling shot first time with my right foot (and missed) and then landed on the folded knee. 10 mins or so after the goal, cause I subbed myself off after the goal (*golfclap for me*)I felt the knee start to tell me to fuck off. So I ran on it abit more, then it promptly told me NO. 5 minutes of intense pain on the sideline ensued, but fortunately subsided as quickly as it had occurred and left me amply swollen. I presume the pain was from the hyperflexion of the fall after the adrenalin wore off, that and/or the mere impact of the sustained intensity of the excercise.
Adam missed out on a goal after the whistle at the end of the first half, and Steph had a final goal sharked by the opposition defender.
Art notes: I started with the central figure, but was unhappy with the dramatic impact of the pose. The final piece in the triptych is better but not great. In truth the goal was pretty plain.
But I was limited in my creative flair by oppressive heat, scarcity of water, and the energy sapping blades of terribly overgrown grass. It had actually been cut recently! But at far too high a height (my whole foot was buried when resting!) and the catcher must have filled and left excess grass cuttings strewn across the playing surface. I shall have to contact FIFA.
Art note: I monkeyed with the original line art and was very happy with the watercolour sytlised effect on the line art and recontrasted the image. I have to learn how to use this scanner properly. Ideally I wanted to upload the pencil art unadulterated, but one scan was too soft but detailed (image on page beneath) and the other too contrasted and B&W. However then I might not have been inspired to colour, however primatively.
Went to Adam's house afterward to ice my leg. Must remember (STEPCH! CECILIA!) to get my ice pack back from the women's club. My team's first aid kit was minus one ice pack this season, and despite constant pleading with the club on selfless behalf of my precious players I never received a replacement. Come finals I was far too concerned for their safety to allow the situation to remain neglected and selflessly and at great personal exertion provided my own personal ice pack to ensure the players would suffer less. Now I need it back!
I'm so humble. Somebody should saint my righteous ass.
