Who were you supporting in the World Cup Final?

After Italy's dodgy penalty against us (Australia) and then their heartbreaking (but deserved) defeat of the Germans, I was pretty anti-italy.

But Henry won himself no honour when falling against Portugal in the semi, and Zizou's moment of madness left me apathetic to the winner.

The football was of a good level, and the 2 goals made the contest interesting, and after about 60 minutes the game started to flow once the Italians stopped going to ground quite as much.

The German victory over Portugal was far more entertaining though, and in terms of skill, the French victory over Brazil was a feast. The most emotional games for me were of course our historic win over Japan and the ultra-dramatic draw against Croatia.

And the best match? For me it has to be Aus v Croatia. It was a live game, 4 goals (beginning in the 1st minute!), a late winner, 2 red cards - and it ebbed and flowed, although the skill level was rather low admittedly! Ghanas demolition of the Czech Republic I thought was very entertaining and a major upset too.

Also caught some of Wimbledon while waiting for the football. Mauresmo was quite competent to claw back victory against Henin-Hardenne, although the Belgian seemed to lose the plot simultaneously as Mauresmo's quality increased, swinging easy balls every where but in.

Federer on the other hand was at his clinical, ruthless best in the first set against Nadal. Nadal came out fighting in the second set which made great viewing, but couldn't maintain his composure, first at 5-4 up and serving for the match, and then after achieving a mini-break in the tie-break, and Federer took full advantage as only he seems capable.

Headed home early tomorrow morning. Better get out of here and find a present for Sabrina who has been housing me. What to get a girl who has everything? How about chocolate hehe. Also gotta go get my flight tickets from Auntie Debbie's (oh yeah). Got up late today cause my sleep was interrupted by the pain of teething! I gotta see the dentist when I get back now that both wisdom teeth in my lower jaw have decided to push through. At least I'm pretty much over my chest cold - small graces.
